Rajbiraj, August 3:

The Dantakali battalion of the armed police force (APF) at Baramajhiya Saptari last night arrested an armed cadre of the Madhesi Liberation Tigers (MLT) at Portaha-6.

Commander of the battalion Prahlad KC said Lekhu Mandal was

arrested by a patrolling team of APF personnel in possession of a pistol and three bullets.

Mandal was arrested for his suspected involvement in the murder of Tek Bahadur Kunwar of Bhardaha-9 in Saptari district on Sunday night, the commander added.

Also on Thursday, unidentified persons abducted Mithilesh Kumar Shah of Saptari’s Gamhariya Prawaha.

Shah is a member of Nepal Students’ Union in Saptari. His father Rajendra on Friday appealed to the abductors to release his son.
