Armed, civil police come to blows
Birgunj, February 17:
Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel clashed at District Administration Office, Parsa, this afternoon.
The APF personnel first stopped a car carrying inspector of Nepal police KP Sharma and thrashed a police constable who was in civil dress in the vehicle.
Chief District Officer Shankar Koirala had summoned Sharma to acquire information about a case related to thrashing of APF personnel by Nepal Police personnel yesterday.
The APF personnel attacked the civil police team under the command of Sharma while he was returning from the DAO after talks with the CDO.
The APF personnel stepped back only when Sharma produced a pistol and warned them not to move ahead. The APF personnel also vandalised the van carrying Sharma.
The civil police personnel had thrashed an APF constable yesterday on charge of misbehaving with a woman, who was the wife of a civil police constable. The constable was a part of APF men deployed for the security of CDO.
It is learnt that the seniors of APF had ordered juniors to thrash any civil police person found in civil dress.
CDO Koirala said it was a minor dispute and it had been solved through dialogue.
