KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 29
Around 1,000 houses in Kanchanpur municipality, Saptari district, have been inundated due to continuous rainfall over the past few days.
A total of 28 houses were destroyed, and water flooded approximately 700 homes in Bairawa, Ward No. 1 of the municipality, according to local leader Bhola Paswan.
Similarly, homes in the Sardar, Khanga, Ram, Muslim, and Yadav settlements were submerged. The flooding also damaged crops across 100 bighas of land.
Rising waters from nearby rivers such as the Koshi, Sundari, and Mohuli Rivers caused the flooding in these areas.
A public office of Kankalini municipality was also reported to be inundated, according to Chief Administrator Kishore Ram.
