ASI BK’s family bereaved

NEPALGUNJ: The bereaved family of APF Assistant Sub Inspector Thaman Bahadur BK, who was killed by the agitators on Friday, are in the state of shock and mourning at Shantitole, Nepalgunj.

Ever since the incident, people have been thronging BK’s tin-roofed house to pay their regards. Thaman’s mother Maiya and wife Shova are yet to regain full consciousness. Thaman is survived by his mother, wife and a three-year-old son.

“They have eaten nothing since they learned about his death,” Thaman’s eldest sister-in-law Kamal said. Kamal recounted that Thaman had asked Shova to call all the family members for a feat on the occasion of Teej festival. Shova was shopping when her maternal family informed her about the incident. Thaman was a permanent resident of Kachanapur in Banke.

His father-in-law Amon Gahatraj said Thaman was killed due to negligence on the part of police. “Had he been sent with security escorting, the incident could have been averted,” Gahatraj added.

Thaman was attacked and killed by agitators in Mahottari yesterday. His body was airlifted to Nepalgunj on Saturday.
