At least four killed in Palpa jeep mishap
KATHMANDU/POKHARA: At least four persons were killed in a jeep accident in Jhadewa of Palpa district on Friday.
The vehicle (Lu 1 Ja 1922) had fallen around 300 metres down the road in Deugir, Jhadewa-2 while it was heading to Gothadi from Tansen of the district at around 10 am today.
Three of the deceased, who died on the spot, have been identified as Rambhadevi Gaha (64) of Jhadewa, Tuk Bahadur Luinche (72) Gothadi-3 and Khadga Bahadur Chauhan (34) of Rahabas-6, according to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
One more person, who succumbed to the injuries at the Lumbini Medical College, has not been identified yet.
As many as 23 persons including two minors have sustained injuries in the accident and they are undergoing treatment at the Prabhas-based Lumbini Medical College and Tansen-based United Mission Hospital.
Three of them are said to be critical.
The four-wheeler had left the district headquarters for Gothadi at around 8 am today.
