Attack on Paswan flayed
Kathmandu, November 21:
The Dalit Human Rights Organisation (DHRO) has condemned the attack on vice-chairman of the National Assembly Ram Prit Paswan during the inaugural ceremony of the Mithilanchal Fate on Sunday.
“A group of so-called Hindu Janashakti Party attacked Paswan while he was addressing the function.
Vice-chairman Paswan was apparently attacked for wearing shirt, pant and tie instead of traditional Maithali dress while addressing the audience.
“We have taken this incident as an attack on the helpless leadership of the nation,” said a statement issued by the DHRO here on Tuesday.
“The police has stated that Rajesh Kumar Jha of Parbaha VDC, Dhanusha, was involved in the incident. However, no action has been taken against him,” the statement said.
