Attorney General Ramesh Badal has tendered his resignation, on Tuesday. His resignation will be effective immediately from today.
AG Badal submitted his resignation to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari via Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Badal, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7, was appointed AG on recommendation of PM Oli according to Article 157 (20 of the Constitution of Nepal on March 19, 2021.
Attorney General Badal, as the legal advisor to the Nepal Government and other officials of the government, had argued against reinstatement of the House of Representatives, on which the Supreme Court had issued an interim order for its reinstatement on Monday.
Badal resigned following the end of premiership of KP Sharma Oli and the imminent appointment of Sher Bahadur Deuba as PM today itself.
