Authorities crackdown on 30 vendors in Rukum’s Khalanga Bazaar

RUKUM: At least 30 roadside wooden stalls, known as 'Gumti' shops, were evicted for encroaching upon the public land of Musikot Municipality, on Friday.

The street vendors had set up the shops at Sahid Maidan, Pushpalal Chowk and in the vicinity of Kalika temple.

The pavements of makeshift shops at Khalanga Bazaar were cleared to decrease traffic hassle with support from the political parties, informed Municipality's Executive Officer Chandra Kant Paudel.

Meanwhile, the vendors have slammed the Municipality for stripping them off their livelihood.
