LIBANG, ROLPA: A baby died in course of delivery at the District Health Office, Rolpa on Friday.

The baby was delivered by 30-year-old Khumisara Bali of Jungkot-9 in Rolpa district.

Bali was rushed to the DHO after suffering from labour pain at 1:00 am on Friday night – a week before the baby's scheduled delivery.

When the pregnant woman arrived in the DHO, the mouth of her uterus had already opened and the baby was born head down, Dr Najir Khan said. The doctor added that surgical operation was not possible as the uterus mouth had already opened and could not be referred elsewhere in such a situation. The woman was later rushed to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for further treatment at 2 am.
