BAJURA, JULY 17

Badimalika Municipality in Bajura has started providing various services through online and digital technology from today onwards.

The technology-based service was inaugurated at a programme organised in the municipality today. Municipality Mayor Ambar Bahadur Khadka said the municipality had started the new technology for fast and better services to service seekers in the municipality. Municipal Spokesperson Dharmaraj Padhya said online and digital service had started at all ward offices. He said that Badimalika Municipality has started online and digital system for registration, recommendation, planning, revenue and business registration, among other services.

Khadka said the new technology was started aiming to provide fast and better services to municipality dwellers. Disaster management, justice committee, social development and SMS services will be provided through online technology.

Chief District Officer PuskarKhadka said that online and digital technology had been started to promote local good governance and prompt service delivery. "The digital system plays significant role in economic development of the local level, effectiveness of service delivery, and record keeping, among others" he added. Municipality Information Technology Officer Hem Thapa said service delivery through online system was started in partnership with Nawaprabardan Fund Programme of Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.

Some of the schools of the municipality have also started their work through online system. Thapa said orientation programme, training, monitoring and techno-friendly education had also been started.

CAO Rangamal BK said CCTV, multimedia projectors, solar and computer servers were also installed in the schools. According to the municipality, Sudurpaschim Province Council of Ministers had helped with Rs one crore and forty lakh and the municipality had managed Rs sixty lakh to bring the system into operation.
