Baglung split may be rectified: Paudel

KATHMANDU: Fourteen CA members from Dhaulagiri zone submitted a memorandum to CPDCC Chairman Baburam Bhattarai, protesting four parties’ agreement to split Baglung district. NC Vice-president Ramchandra Paudel said they realised that the proposal to split Baglung district was a bit problematic and they would probably rectify it.

A bandh was called by political parties and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Baglung Chapter in Baglung on Sunday to protest the new federal set-up. Major market places pulled down their shutters while transportation was halted. Parties that had abstained in the last Constituent Assembly polls expressed solidarity with the bandh.

According to the new demarcation and boundary, Baglung market falls in Pradesh 4, while Dhorpatan and Burtibang areas have been accommodated in Pradesh 5. Constituency-3  falls in Pradesh 5.
