The death toll in the Baitadi bus accident has risen to 13 after five injured passengers succumbed to their injuries at Dadeldhura Hospital, police said.
Eight people died on the spot when the bus met with the accident, on Thursday.
The Bajhang-bound bus (Supa Province 02-001 Kha 1119), carrying wedding guests from Purchaudi Municipality-7, Bhawane, Baitadi, crashed at Badgaun Mode in Purchaudi-7.
According to Baitadi Police Chief Deepak Kumar Roy, those who died at the scene included residents of Bajhang and Baitadi districts, while the identity of one deceased is yet to be confirmed.
Police said the five who died during treatment at Dadeldhura Hospital were also from Bajhang and Baitadi.
Meanwhile, 34 injured passengers are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi and Bajhang.
It has been reported that the bride and groom were not travelling on the bus at the time of the accident.
