BAITADI: A girl died after being swept away by a river flooded due to the incessant rainfall on Saturday evening.

Jayanti Joshi, the 10-year-old daughter of local Dhanidatta Joshi of Dulasauni VDC-4 drowned in the flood of the Gorghatte River, according to the District Police Office, Baitadi.

The child was reportedly returning home after fetching water from a nearby water spout when the unfortunate incident took place.
