BAITADI, APRIL 12

At least six persons died on the spot in a jeep accident that occurred at Patan Municiplaity-8, Jholekmod in Baitadi on the Khodape-Bajhang road section along the Jayaprithvi Highway.

All six deceased were from the same village in Bajhang. The deceased has been identified as Mane Bohora, 60, Banjh, Nare Bohora, 42, Gorakh Bohora, 35, Man Bahadur Dhami, 45, Birkha Dhami, 45, and Bire Dhami, 40, of Kedarsyun Rural Municiplaity-5.

The jeep (Se 1 Ja 764) en route to Bagthala of Bajhang from Jhulaghat met with the accident at 11.00 pm on Tuesday, shared Baitadi Police Spokesperson, Inspector Yogesh Khatry.

Five other passengers of the jeep narrowly escaped the fatality as they managed to jump before the accident. The jeep carrying 12 passengers had fallen down 500 meters off the road. The Jeep driver is absconding. The reason behind the accident is yet to be established.
