Bajura locals enthralled with arrival of first gynaecologist

Bajura, March 28

Women of the district have been elated with the gynaecologist’s arrival.

According to Dr Mohan Nath of the district hospital, Dr Rajan Neupane has been providing gynaecological service at the hospital for the past one month.

“No gynaecologist had ever agreed to come to this place, but Dr Neupane has devoted his life to treating women of this rural village,” Dr Nath said.

The hospital staff reported that the number of patients had also increased with the arrival of Dr Nath.

“Over 50 women visit the hospital seeking gynaecology service on a daily basis against the past record of 15 to 20 women each day,” said Assistant Nursing Midwife Chandra Dani.

“We never had an expert to treat anomalies related to female reproductive system, but we are relieved with Dr Neupane’s arrival,” said Kaladevi Bista, 48, of Badimalika municipality-12.

Meanwhile, Federation of Non-government Organisation Bajura chairperson Kashi BK lauded Dr Neupane’s service in one of the remotest districts of the country. “As per the agreement, he will stay here till mid-July, but it would be better if we could keep him longer,” he said.

Majority of the patients who visit the hospital seeking gynaecological service are suffering from ovarian problems.
