Over 90 ballot papers with stub, counterfoil found in Ilam
KATHMANDU: Around 95 ballot papers with both stub and counterfoil were found while counting the votes in Deumai Municipality of Ilam district on Thursday morning.
The Chief Returning Officer were to keep the counterfoil and give the stub of ballot papers to the voters to exercise their franchise. But, in lack of proper knowledge, the Officer gave the whole ballot paper, said Prem Prasad Dahal, an Election official at the Municipality. "This happened in the initial phase, when the voting had just started."
An all-party meeting is underway to decide whether to count those ballot papers, added Dahal.
Election officials along with representatives of CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN Maosit Centre, Federal Socialist Forum and Federal Limbuwan Party-Nepal are present in the meeting.
