'Bandh' called by Biplav-led CPN partially affects Bhojpur

BHOJPUR: Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) announced a bandh in Bhojpur today citing murder of one of their cadres.

According to the district's security bodies, the bandh has only partially affected the district. District Police Office, Bhojpur informed that security is being provided to vehicles in operation.

Tirtha Raj Ghimire, a Biplav-led CPN cadre had sustained injuries in a clash with the police last Tuesday at Tyamke Maiyum Rural Municipality of Bhojpur district.

Ghimire, who was injured with a bullet on his leg, was taken to Dharan's BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. He died during the course of treatment.

Meanwhile, members of the party claim that Ghimire was taken under control and killed. They are demanding a fair investigation into the incident.
