Bandh hits Birgunj hard

Birjung, March 27:

The indefinite strike called to protest the murder of Sanjaya Gupta, 20, of Birgunj-13 affected normal life in the town for the second day today.

While market places and educational institutions remained closed, agitators staged

protests at Ghatiarwa, Maisthan, Adarshanagar and Alkhiyamath by burning tyres.

They also smashed the windowpanes of Triveni Business House for defying the bandh. Locals have been demanding compensation for the victim’s family, stern action against the murderers and martyr’s status for the deceased.
