Bandh leads to food scarcity
MUSIKOT: The bandh called by the Industry and Commerce Association of Rukum demanding compliance with the agreement with the district administration to repair the feeder road has led to food scarcity in the district.
Due to the bandh the main commercial centres Chaurjahari, Rukimkot, Baphikot, Bairgithati and Jhulneta have been shut down from Monday. There is a shortage of daily necessities in the village areas. The strike organisers have even started supplying goods like vegetables and milk from the villages to the market places.
The CCA has demanded action against the contractor of Jhulneta-Musikot Kalanga district headquarters road alleging irregularities in the road gravel work. According to Prabir Dangi treasurer of CCA Rukum the bandh would continue till their demands are addressed.
