The CPN (Maoist)-called indefinite Rautahat district bandh affected life here on Monday. The party had called the bandh, demanding an immediate release of Maoist cadres Jayaram Yadav and Raj Kumar Yadav, who were nabbed from Debahi VDC on Saturday with a pistol. Jayaram and Raj Kumar are in custody in the district police office. Transport service, industries and educational institutions remained closed, and police and YCL cadres briefly clashed. Maoist district secretary Bindeshwor Yadav and district chairman of the Madhesi Rastriya Mukti Morcha Pradip, in a statement, said the bandh will continue until the Maoist cadres are released.
