KATHMANDU, APRIL 15
The historic hill town of Bandipur welcomed more than 210,000 tourists in the year 2081 BS (April 13, 2024 – April 13, 2025), according to the Bandipur Visit Year Secretariat.
Of the total visitors, 60,000 were foreign tourists while 150,000 were domestic, reflecting growing interest in the scenic and culturally rich destination.
Since the official launch of Bandipur Visit Year on January 1, 2025, significant strides have been made in infrastructure development, data collection, and the classification of tourism-related businesses. Local stakeholders have also worked to improve the quality of hospitality services to encourage longer tourist stays and increased spending.
International visitors to Bandipur came from a wide range of countries including Japan, China, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, the United States, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, Australia, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Belgium, Thailand, Switzerland, Malaysia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Iran, India, Greece, and Argentina.
The campaign aims to further establish Bandipur as a premier cultural and eco-tourism destination in Nepal.
