KATHMANDU, APRIL 25

Owing to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in Banke district, one of the hotspots of the second wave of the pandemic, the District Administration Office (DAO) has decided to impose lockdown here for a week beginning Monday midnight.

Banke administration made the decision in a bid to contain the spread of the virus as health facilities in the district have been overwhelmed with the patients with symptoms similar to the coronavirus infection.

Chief District Officer of Banke Shiva Ram Gelal said the restrictive measure will stay in place until the issuance of another notice. CDO Gelal further urged the denizens not to go out of their houses except in emergency situations.
