BARA: The Nepali Congress’ Bara unit has expressed condolence over the demise of Nepali Congress president and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. In a statement released by the Bara Congress president Radhechandra Raya Yadav here today, he appealed to all grief-stricken cadres and the general public to “have patience.”

The statement added that the death of a towering figure of the democratic struggle and contemporary politics has drowned the entire Nepali populace in grief.

Expressing sadness over Koirala’s demise, the Peasants’ Rights Struggle Committee, Bara, called off its three-day protest programme.

Similarly, in a statement, president of the

Bara Teacher’s Union, Devendra Giri, said that the death

of a patron of Nepali democracy and contemporary politics has saddened all countrymen.
