Bara’s Machha village waterlogged

Bara, July 8:

The Machha village and other nearby villages situated at Parsauni of Bara district were flooded today due to incessant downpour since Thursday. The villages were waterlogged after the flood in Basaha Khola entered Tiar river, a local Ram Sharan Bhandari said.

The flood destroyed bridges linking Machha village to the highway, headquarters Kalaiya and Parsauni VDC.

Similarly, fish worth around Rs 1 lakh were swept away from the fishponds by the flood, Bhandari said.

Around half-a-dozen VDCs including Kakadi, Sihorwa, Haraiya, Umjan and Karaiya have lost direct contact with the district headquarters. The flooding has affected in the movement of locals and also in the studies at local schools, Bhandari added.
