BARDIYA: Much to the surprise of visitors, District Forest Office, Bardiya boasts of two office chiefs, thanks to the policy of incumbent Forest Minister Dipak Bohara, who has been allegedly transferring staffers irrationally.

Earlier, the secretary-level meeting had decided to depute Biswanath Mahato, as the chief there. However, Mahato was taken aback when Prabhunath Yadav of Rautahat district showed up in the office claiming himself to be the chief. Both of them identify themselves as the office chief. Official works has been affected due to a dilemma. Their subordinates are confused when they have to forward files and letters for approval. The staffers objected to the decision of the government to transfer the staffers off and on.

Mahato said, “I could not believe he too had the appointment letter,’’ adding, “I wonder if the ministry could be that irresponsible.” However, it was reported that the ministry was sending him back to Morang.
