KATHMANDU: The ward office in Geruwa Rural Municipality-6 of Bardiya district was set ablaze on Monday evening.

According to Patabhar-based Area Police Office, the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) torched the ward office in Manau area of the municipality at around 6:30 pm yesterday.

Police said computers, furniture and all important documents in the archive room were destroyed and added that property worth Rs 460,000 were gutted in the arson attack.

It has been learnt that pamphlets of the CPN were found at the site.
