BE students handed wrong question papers

Itahari, June 9:

Students of BE third year, who appeared at the Peace Zone exam centre today to write paper of Computer Application, got questions of Electrical Engineering.

This happened due to the negligence on the part of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).

According to the routine, students of Itahari-based Sushma Koirala Memorial Engineering College were to give exam of Computer Application.

However, they could not write the paper as they got question papers of Electrical Engineering.

Infuriated students protested the negligent act of the Council for Technical Education

and Vocational Training. This lead to the cancellation of today’s exam.

“The exam has been cancelled and rescheduled for June 20,” superintendent Jagadish Prasad Oli said.

An official of the CTEVT Binod Kumar Shrestha said the mistake was serious. He put the blame on the exam section of the CTEVT.

“The mistake occurred because the exam section of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training packaged question papers carelessly,” the official said.

“Action will be taken against staffers involved in wrongly packaging question papers,” he said.

Students of the Engineering College said that they could not attend today’s exam because of carelessness on the part of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training.

“We will be forced to stage an agitation if the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training does not mend its ways,” Shat Kumar Dahal, a student of the engineering college, said.

According to the CTEVT, the exam of Computer Application has been cancelled in eight centres nationwide.
