Be trustworthy, co-ops told
Pokhara, November 15:
The Minister of Education and Sports, Radha Krishna Mainali, has said that cooperatives must be trustworthy. Addressing a meeting of cooperatives based in the district of Kaski, Mainali said though many cooperatives were born in 1989, most of them have not yet become trustworthy and professional. Stating that there are over 7,000 cooperatives across the country, he said women are helping run 500 of them.
Stating that the NGO code and Media Ordinance had been promulgated to regulate the NGOs and the media, he labelled some NGOs as begging bowls. He said the government will hold elections on schedule.
