Bhairavi temple at high risk of landslide

The famous Bhairavi temple and settlements around it in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, are at a high risk of a landslide following incessant rainfall of the past few days.

A landslide occurred close to the temple and the settlement surrounding it last night.

The temple was built during Prithvi Narayan Shah reign.

President of Nuwakot Heritage Society Pushkar Sharma Rimal said the settlement and the temple at Dharapani were at risk of landslide.

Landslide risk has increased as no retaining wall was constructed while upgrading the Bidur-Nuwakot-Chokade rural road.

According to police, 14 houses in the settlement face imminent risk of landslide.
