Bhanubhakta Wildlife Park to be established

The government is preparing to acquire land for construction of Bhanubhakta Wildlife Park in the area joining Vyas Municipality and Bhanu Municipality in Tanahun.

Preparation is under way to acquire land belonging to the residents of affected areas. Chief at the park Birendra Prasad Kandel, said as many as 105 residents from the affected areas had submitted applications seeking compensation in return for their 800 ropani land till date.

Kandel informed that compensation would be provided to land owners of affected areas as per the recommendation of the evaluation committee formed by the chief district officer.

According to Kandel, an eleven-member local committee led by social worker Bhim Prasad Neupane has been collecting applications along with landownership certificates from locals. He added that the park would spread over 425 hectare land.

“Administrative buildings, children’s park and infrastructure will be constructed in a bid to promote domestic and international tourism,” Kandel informed.

He said elephants, rhinos, tigers, bears, among other wild animals, from the country and abroad would be brought to the park.
