Bharatpur flights remain suspended
Chitwan, January 16:
Flights on the Bharatpur-Kathmandu route remained suspended for the third day due to dense fog.
According to Raj Kumar Chettri of the Manager of the Bharatpur Airport, the flights could not be conducted due to low visibility resulting from fog and cloudy weather.
The flights had been cancelled on Saturday and Sunday as well. Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation and other private airlines including Buddha Air, Cosmic Air, Yeti Air and Gorkha Air conduct regular flights to Bharatpur.
Meanwhile, a report from Birgunj said all flights to and from Simara Airport remained suspended today also.
The scheduled flights of Buddha Air, Yeti Air and Gorkha Air were cancelled due to bad weather today also, Simara Airport Office said. The technicians of the airport said that the weather will not clear until it rains and that flights will continue to be disrupted till then.
There has been decrease in the arrival of Indian tourists due to continuing flight cancellations, the airlines companies said.
Similarly, a report from Bhairahawa said the Kathmandu-Bhairahawa flights remained suspended from the past three days. State Minister for Physical Planning and Construction, Brijesh Kumar Gupta could not return to capital due to flight cancellation today as well. The flights were cancelled due to low visibility, officials at the Gautam Buddha Airport said. Daily six flights are operated from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu. Flights of Buddha Air, Cosmic Air and Yeti Air have been suspended from the past three days.
