Bharatpur local body reps given training against human trafficking
RATNANAGAR, CHITWAN: The local body representatives of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 were given orientation about their duties, responsibilities and rights against human trafficking.
A team from Maiti Nepal trained the representatives at Kabilas of Ratnanagar on Friday.
According to Yubraj Dawadi, regional programme officer at Maiti Nepal said that the foreign employment, human trafficking and child rights among others issues were discussed in the programme.
Newly-elected Chairperson of Ward Number 29, Man Bahadur Ranamagar said that getting orientation on the burning issues was an advantage for them and the entire team would remain active against such anti-social activities in the rural areas.
Likewise, Bhim Kumari Thapa, a newly elected woman member of the ward said that the programme would be effectively conducted if a committee was formed in the village itself.
Psycho-social counsellor of Maiti Nepal Jayanti Khanal also expressed her opinions at the training programme.
