KATHMANDU, MAY 27
Newly-elected mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Renu Dahal, was injured when the car she was travelling in crashed into a pole in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Friday afternoon.
According to Deputy Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Chitrasen Adhikari, Dahal has suffered minor bruises on her head and was discharged after first aid. Adhikari said Dahal's driver lost control when the car's tyre got punctured.
Dahal's husband Arjun Pathak and sister Ganga Dahal were also in the car when the accident occurred, but escaped unhurt. Dahal is in Kathmandu to meet her mother Sita Dahal and will return to Bharatpur on Monday.
