Bhattarai says monarchists are a threat

Kathmandu, January 10:

Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai said today that pro-monarchy forces are posing “a big threat to people and democracy”.

Bhattarai released a novel, Raktakunda, which, as described by its author, Krishna Abiral, deals with conspiracies inside the royal palace. Addressing the book-launching ceremony, he said nobody can stop the people from making Nepal a democratic republic.

He accused some people and parties, who portray themselves as supporters of a democratic republic, backing the monarchists. “We can smell a big conspiracy inside the residence of the PM,” he said.

CPN-UML leader Pradip Nepal and president of the FNJ Bishnu Nisthuri also commented on the book.
