Baburam Bhattarai pledges to bring fresh plan for nation building
Pokhara, January 29
New Force Nepal Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai today pledged that his political force would come up with a new plan for nation building.
In an interaction titled ‘What kind of new force?’ at the Fifth Literature Festival organised by Bookworm Foundation in Pokhara, Bhattarai held that Nepali people were forced to live without even basic facilities as NC, UML and UCPN-Maoists had made politics their profession.
“I am mulling over a new plan suitable for Nepal and will soon start working to bring about economic progress and prosperity,” Bhattarai added.
Bhattarai accused the old and big parties of engaging in corruption to rear their cadres, conduct party polls and amass property. “The relevance of old parties is over. They never thought and brought a plan for economic progress of the people and the country,” said Bhattarai.
Bhattari reiterated that his major goal was to make his political force free from corruption and work wholeheartedly for the economic development and prosperity of the country.
“The new force will lay the foundation for capitalism and move towards socialism. We will work on uplifting the living standards of the poor people,” said Bhattarai, adding that he would continue revising his party’s policies as per the changing needs.
“Nepal is among the 15 richest countries in terms of natural resources. But, we are the one of the poorest countries in the world,” Bhattarai said.
At the programme, CPN-UML leader Yogesh Bhattarai said his party had addressed the demands of the agitating Madhesi parties through constitution amendment.
He pledged that his party would work in the best interest of the people and the country.
