Visit Nepal Year-2020 is just four months away. However, nothing has been done to mark the tourism year in Dhankuta. Bhedetar receives around three lakh tourists a year. But, no preparations have been made targeting additional number of tourists in Bhedetar.

Organisations working in the tourism sector are not coordinating with local levels. Tourism Promotion Development Centre Dhankuta Chair Bijay Santoshi Rai said they had not made any plan to attract foreign and domestic tourists in 2020.

Bhedetar receives around 300 tourists on a daily basis. Local tourism entrepreneur Bishnu Raj Shrestha said they were planning to establish a cultural organisation with support from Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City in Bhedetar.

Namje Homestay Operation Committee Chair Anil Rana said preparation was on to welcome six lakh tourists in the current fiscal.

Tourism entrepreneurs and hoteliers met Province-1 Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai and urged him to pave the way to develop infrastructure and launch adventure sports in Bhedetar. Hotel Association Bhedetar Chair Jitendra Rumdali Rai said Bhedetar was famous among tourists from Tarai region during summer season. Tourism entrepreneur Khagendra Bista said by working together, local government and tourism entrepreneurs could boost tourism sector in Bhedetar.
