Big names likely to be in fray in Nawalparasi

As some top leaders are preparing to vie in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and state assemblies from Nawalparasi district that has been split into two districts, both the election and the prospective candidates have become the talk of the town.
The election to the House of Representatives in 32 districts is scheduled for November 26 while the election to state assemblies is taking place in the rest 45 districts on December 7.
Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashank Koirala is likely to run for the House of Representatives from Constituency 1 from the eastern part Nawalparasi while former state minister for Home Affairs and Nepali Congress central member Devendra Raj Kandel is vying for the House of Representatives from Constituency 2 in the western part of Nawalparasi.
Similarly, Free Alliance’s advocate and former minister Hridesh Tripathi is contesting from western district (Bardaghat Susta) Constituency 1 with Sun as the electoral sign.
Likewise, UML central member Tilak Mahat is also contesting from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta) eastern district Constituency 2 while CPN-MC leader Ghanashyam Yadav will be contesting from western district Constituency 2.
UML central member Baijanath Chaudhary is likely to contest for the House of Representatives from the eastern region Constituency 1 ‘Ka’ area.
There are now four constituencies for election to the House of Representatives and eight constituencies for state assemblies after the division of Nawalparasi into two districts.
