Big Three not keen on drafting statute: Yadav

Mahottari, December 6:

President of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum and Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav alleged that the CPN-Maoist, CPN-UML and NC were not keen to draft a new constitution.

Inaugurating the party’s second district convention here today, Yadav said the parties needed to present their ideological stand before writing the statute. He said the Maoists were in a dilemma following their recent conclave. “They talked of people’s democracy and democratic republic just to fool people,” he said. “They are not sure of their political agenda.”

He said his party would quit the government to launch an agitation if it failed to implement the agreement reached with the Madhesi front. Yadav said the new statute could be be realised only if all the parties made a united move.

Party cadres greeted Yadav with black flags alleging that he had sidelined warring cadres.
