Bihar CM urged to free Nepali Maoists
New Delhi, April 27:
Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hisila Yami and senior Maoist leader CP Gajurel returned to Nepal today after taking part in a two-day seminar on “Emerging trends in Nepal-India relations” held in Patna.
Before their return to Nepal, they called on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and urged him to facilitate the release of all Maoist cadres and leaders detained in various jails of Bihar.
Former president of the pro-Maoist Janadhikar Suraksha Samiti-India Laxman Pant said at least three dozen Maoists had been languishing in jails in Bihar.
The seminar focused on various aspects of Nepal-India relations, mutual trade and commerce and other issues including border security.
Physical Minister Yami led the 45-member Nepali delegation to Patna while the Indian side was led by Union Minister for Commerce and Energy Jairam Ramesh.
