Bijukchhe rules out simultaneous amendment, polls

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, has said that elections and constitution amendment would not be carried out simultaneously.

At a programme organised by Rafat Sanchar Club in Bhaktapur on Sunday, Chairman Bijukchhe suggested holding local poll at first and discussing on constitution amendment process would make sense.

Blaming the big parties of not following the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission, Chairman Bijukchhe drew the attention of the EC towards it.

He said that Rastriya Prajatantra Party's warning of quitting the government even by misusing the power was wrong as it affects EC's free and fair activities.
