Bike hit kills Siraha septuagenarian

LAHAN: An elderly man was killed after being struck by a motorbike last night along the Choharwa–Siraha road stretch in Siraha district.

The motorbike (Sa 7 Pa 7023), heading towards the south, hit the 70-year-old Debua Sada, who was crossing the road. Sada succumbed to serious injuries sustained during the accident while being rushed to Biratnagar for treatment, the District Police Office said.

Wild tuskers destroy four houses 

Meanwhile, a herd of wild elephants vandalised four houses located in Lahan Municipality-15 of the district.

The elephants straying from a nearby jungle inflicted considerable damages to the houses belonging to Mohan Yadav, Bam Bhola Yadav, Shiva Yadav and Shyam Yadav.

The herd of elephants razed down the houses and damaged the food grains stored inside causing a loss equivalent to Rs 300,000, police said.
