Bill drafted to replace Muluki Ain will be endorsed soon: Minister Thapa

POKHARA: Minister for Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Yagya Bahadur Thapa has said that the bill drafted to replace the 'Muliki Ain' or the General Code will be endorsed soon.

Speaking in a programme organised to mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal Women Association in Pokhara, today, Minister shared that the new bill was utmost in accordance changed context.

Minister Thapa focused the role of association played for the establishment of the democracy in the country.

"The three tiers of elections are must for the implementation of the constitution in the nation, " Minister Thapa shared.

Lawmaker Sharada Poudel, Kathmandu Metropolitan City deputy mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi, Association chairperson Kopila Ranabhat among others had focused the association's role during the democratic movement in the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had appointed Yagya Bahadur Thapa as Minister for Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs from Nepali Congress quota in his Cabinet.
