Bill tabled in House for consideration

KATHMANDU: Law Minister Prem Bahadur Singh today tabled the Bill to make the seventh amendment to the Interim Constitution for consideration. The government decided to amend the Interim Constitution to facilitate the President and Vice-President to take the oath of office and secrecy in their own mother tongue. The constitutional provision is to take the oath only in Nepali by the two senior-most government officials of the country. Minister Singh said the Bill to amend the Interim Constitution would either be sent to the parliamentary statuary committee for further consideration or the full House would endorse it. Lawmakers today discussed the theoretical aspect of the Bill.

It has to wait 72 hours to get its maturity and lawmakers are allowed to register their amendment proposals to the Bill.
