Nidhi says incumbent government capable to hold all 3 polls

DAMAULI: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi said the incumbent government was capable enough to hold local, provincial and federal elections.

Speaking with journalists at a press conference organised by the Nepal Press Union in Damauli of Tanahun today, Nidhi said the government would announce dates for all the polls one after another very soon.

When the CPN Maoist Centre and the Nepali Congress formed the ruling alliance in August last year, it was reported that the parties had agreed to hold local polls under the incumbent PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal's leadership and the reigns would be handed over to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba for provincial and federal elections.

He informed that the government had already directed security bodies to boost up security arrangements across the nation for the same.

Meanwhile, Nidhi said the government was confident enough that the Parliament would endorse the Constitution amendment bill as the main opposition CPN-UML had already been flexible over the issue.
