Biplav-led CPN cadre arrested in Tanahun

DAMAULI: Police have arrested a cadre of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) from Dulegauda area in Tanahun district, on Monday.

The District Police Office, Tanahun, identified the arrestee as district committee member Bilash Pariyar, 43, of Dulegauda in Suklagandaki Municipality-4 in the district.

Pariyar was arrested from BP Chowk in Dulegauda today, DPO Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lila Raj Lamichhane said.

Meanwhile, further investigation is underway, according to DSP Lamichhane.

Ever since the government announced an absolute ban on the Biplav-led CPN, two key leaders of the party's standing committee -- member Hemanta Prakash Oli and politburo member Mohan Karki along with other cadres have been arrested across the nation.
