MANGALBARE, DECEMBER 11

Boating service has come back into operation at Sriantu lake of Suryodaya Municipality.

Boating service had remained suspended for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic and conflict between the municipality and the private boat operator.

However, the municipality has taken the responsibility on its own and brought boat service into operation in the lake in a bid to promote domestic and foreign tourism. Besides the view of sunrise and sunset, boat ride will be another attraction for tourists visiting Sriantu.

"At present, three boats have been operated in the lake," said Mayor Ran Bahadur Rai.

Stating that the boats were operated to entertain tourists coming to the popular tourist spot, Mayor Rai said the boating service has been added to Antupokhari along with other tourist spots.

The municipality has allocated funds for operation of boats in the lake, while also developing infrastructure in various sectors of tourism in the area. Tourists will be charged Rs 50 per person for boating in the lake. Likewise, 15 life jackets have been managed for the safety of tourists.
