Bodies of nine victims of Tara Air plane crash sent to capital for DNA test

Pokhara, February 26

Bodies of nine people killed in the Tara Air plane crash on Wednesday were sent to Kathmandu today. Kaski police said of the nine bodies, identities of only two were established.

The bodies were taken to the capital for DNA test to confirm the identities of Chinese citizen Mak Sui Yang, Dil Kumari Gauchan, Devijung Gurung, Fenjok Gurung, Laxmi Hirachan, Lepsang Lama and Kanchha Pariyar.

Bodies of Rasad Ahamad, a Kuwaiti national, and NA soldier Raj Kumar Tamang were also sent to Kathmandu.

Of the twenty bodies brought to Pokhara, eleven were been handed over to their family members. Relatives had accepted three bodies from the incident site itself.

Kin had received the bodies of Pabitra KC, Moti Bahadur KC, six-month-old girl and Rewati Baral today.

All 23 people including three crew members were killed when a Twin Otter aircraft owned by Tarai Air crashed at Solighoptebhir of Dana VDC in Myagdi on Wednesday.
