RAMECHHAP: The local administration of Ramechhap has vowed to take action against the persons who have secured relief by obtaining earthquake victim identity cards on the basis of fake details.

The District Administration Office took a decision to this effect in view of the dramatic rise in the number of persons receiving victim ID cards on the basis of fake details from the village secretaries.

As per the decision, persons who furnish fake details as well as those who abet in doing so will face legal action. According to Chief District Officer Basudev Dahal, the ID cards of such people will be confiscated.

“Anyone who has obtained victim identity cards in a deceitful manner will be arrested. They will have to forfeit their identity cards and reimburse the relief amount they have secured,” said CDO Dahal.
