Bomb explodes near Nepal-India border in Rautahat village

RAUTAHAT: A homemade bomb exploded near the Nepal-India border on the Nepali side in Laxmipur Belbichhawa of Rautahat district on Monday evening.

The incident site is 150 metres away from the Pillar No. 334.

The improvised explosive device, planted in a local resident's Sisoo grove, went off after a buffalo treaded on it at around 5:45 pm, according to DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari.

A woman tending the buffalo has been injured in incident.

The 60-year-old local resident was hit by shrapnels and has sustained minor injuries on her neck and hands. The buffalo's forelimbs are wounded.

DSP Bhandari said an investigation into the case has been launched.
