Bomb explodes targeting house of NC Tanahun-2 provincial polls candidate
DAMAULI: A bomb exploded in the house belonging to Nepali Congress (NC) Tanahun-2 provincial polls candidate Pradip Paudel in Shuklagandaki Municipality-8, in the wee hours of Saturday.
An unidentified group detonated a bomb targeting the house belonging to NC central member Paudel, at Janaganapate, at around 4:45 am today, according to Police Inspector Rajendra Adhikari at the Belchautara-based Area Police Office.
No human casualties have been reported in the blast.
It has been learnt that Paudel does not live in the house, but his sister Seti Maya Gautam.
Although the bomb was detonated with a motive to terrorise, he is not worried at all, the NC leader Paudel claimed.
The NC youth leader further claimed that the attack was carried out in wave of fear swept over them after seeing the increasing public support to the party.
Meanwhile, the search is on for the culprits involved in the bomb explosion, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sunil Malla at the District Police Office (DPO), Tanahun said.
